A Mother's Love

A popular saying is that God cannot be present everywhere and so he created mothers. The relationship between a mother and a child is very special and that is as good as truth. A mother means the world to a child, it is she who protects, nourishes, and bestows her child with love and care. It is she who sacrifices many things in life to give the best to her children. Let her know how special her love for you is, and acknowledge all the pain and sacrifice she took to raise you the way you are. Thank her for her unconditional love, for forgiving you when you did something wrong, and held you when the world around condemned you. Thank her for being at your side when you needed her the most. Remember how she stayed awake at night to protect you when you used to fall sick. Recall all the good times you shared with your mom and tell her how you cherish every moment of your early days.

A Mother's Love
A Mother's love is something
that no on can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away . . .
It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation . . .
A many splendored miracle
man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God's tender guiding hand.

Isn't it Funny...?

Isn't it funny, when life goes around and all of a sudden we wake up, only to find ourselves not knowing a person at all? Some may say, "people change", but what I have come to realize is that, they didn't change, I just never knew that person at all! Be true to yourself and don't YOU make excuses for another person's behavior!

Me Time :)

A Little Time For Yourself

Audrey Heller said it best in her poem:
Just when you want to take it easy,
along comes a lot of distraction. It
puts you, in the kind of mood, where
you can't help, but show, dissatisfaction.
Here you are, thinking you'll have a nice
quiet day. But contrary, to what you had
in mind, everything seems to be going,
the other way! All you really wanted, was
to be by yourself and just do, whatever
you wanted to do, without a care! It's not
fair that your plans, had to go up in smoke
and fade into thin air! What does it take, to
have a little time for yourself, or dare I ask?
I'd like to think, I can do as I please, when,
I please, or does it then, become, a task?
All I'd like, is a little time, with minimal
distraction. It's then, I'll ever be so grateful
for this time alotted me, with a great deal,
of satisfaction!

Ain't Nothing Like a Party!

It's your birthday? Let's party! You got a promotion? Let's party! You ever notice we look for a reason to party? When we celebrate we usually are saying thanks for what you did, said, or accomplished. What we need to realize is we always look for something to celebrate instead of just doing it! We need to start rejoicing, honoring, applauding, commending, saluting, toasting to the wonderful people God has placed in our lives. Not for what they do, but for who they are and for what they mean to us. In other words, "thank you for being you." Let's do it as often as we can. Parties in our souls...let it out!!!

Attitude...The Good, Bad, and the Ugly!

An attitude can be defined as a positive or negative evaluation of people, objects, events, activities, ideas, or just about anything in your environment (Zimbardo et al., 1999). You choose your attitude. What is your choice for today?

Where is the Kid in You?

Tonight, draw yourself a hot bubble bath and splash around for a while. Enjoy the moment!  You never know what you might be missing if you grow up too much and stop asking, "now what?" -Thelma Wells

Slow Down

Thought for today came from my cousin Kennith May: "When life seems weary and stressful at times, put up a stop sign at the intersection of your busy life; turn off the distractions that keep you from listening to God's voice, and let him speak to you as you read his word. Stop and take a break from the business of life, so you can refuel your soul and while he refreshes your heart and mind with strength to live life well for His glory!"

Life Made Simple

God is not finished with me yet! I feel that he is making changes with me for the better. When you are tapped on the shoulder by Him, just turn around and listen. It's that simple:)
